The distinctive purples and reds of the Alder start to come through even as a sapling. Alder is often seen growing near water. Planting on these alders will be one of the jobs that we do at next week’s volunteer day.
Join us for February Volunteer Day on Sat. February 8th. 11am to 3pm . It is an exciting time in our native tree nursery. We are building beds , processing seeds and planting on hazels, oaks and alders. Whether you are after a cosy spot in the poly tunnel processing seed or braving the elements shovelling manure ,there is work to suit all energy levels and moods!
Dress warm and waterproof with sturdy footwear. Soup , Hot Drinks and Acorn cookies provided.
