Throughout Ireland, Strawboy hats and costumes were once crafted to create disguises for festive and ceremonial occasions. In this workshop, you’ll learn traditional techniques to weave and plait oat straw — transforming this readily available natural material into hats, skirts, shirts, and gaiters.
