This time of year , is the time to gather in the seeds There are so many different ways that seeds inspire me but most of all it is their power to restore and nourish. I often hold cupped in my hands a bundle of acorns and I am left in awe as I contemplate that within my grasp is a forest waiting to be restored.
Waking the Seeds is an invitation to restore and be restored and to hold a collective vision for nature restoration through creative practice. Communities in North Kilkenny and beyond are invited to participate in co creating an intergenerational textile piece in which we will explore how we can stitch back together our habitats and ecosystems by holding a collective vision for nature. Through a series of nature based workshops that support connection to nature , we will explore how we can as communities come together to support a vision for nature restoration? Workshops wi include foraging, seed saving, exploring natural found materials and processing plants for food and pigment.
